ABOUT

Taylor Brockelsby

Taylor grew up in Oakville, Ontario Canada putting his ears to work at a young age. He was heavily involved in music, performing, singing, writing and recording music of his own and friend's bands. In high school Taylor began to pursue his interests in film, TV and content creation. His interests started to grow the moment he tried chopping up and cutting his favourite music into student films for the first time - A first taste of sound editorial.

 

It was at Sheridan College that Taylor found his path in film sound. He studied under Sound Editor Stephen Barden at Sheridan's Media Arts program, commonly known as Canada's top film program. During his schooling he worked for Sheridan's own production house where he put in hundreds of hours on commercial and corporate content recording, cutting and mixing sound.

During a final semester of College Taylor Interned at Toronto sound studio Jam Post. There he learned from Sound Editors and owners Mark Shnuriwsky and Janice Ierulli on shows like "Narcos" S1, "Hannibal" S3, and "Remedy" S2. His time at Jam Post led to the work on his first job on a feature length film "The Interior".

Taylor has since been operating Brockelsby Sound independently as a Freelance Sound Editor/Mixer working with a variety of independent Directors, Producers, Show-runners and content creators. Taylor is currently being mentored by Sound Designer J.R. Fountain of Big Room Sound in pursuit of mastering his craft.
